Camera-monitoring System (CMS) Facility under our ARAI Safety and Homologation Laboratory
On the occasion of National Innovation Day, ARAI inaugurated the Camera-monitoring System (CMS) Facility under our Safety and Homologation Laboratory.
The facility is designed to provide testing of CMS as per ISO 16505, ECE R46 and AIS 001 / 002 (Rev. 2) – 2023 along with developmental testing.
The one-of-its-kind facility in India is well equipped with highly defined in-house software and infrastructure to provide accurate results for both components and vehicle-mounted CMS.
A fine CMS can be utilized in place of rear- and side-view mirrors resulting in:
- Providing benefits for vehicle function and safety by minimizing glare
- Eliminating blind spots
- Enhancing aerodynamics and reduction in fuel/energy consumption
- Serving as fundamental technology for Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
The collaborative setup allows component manufacturers and OEMs to witness the power of their CMS with us and together work towards the future of vision in mobility.
