Electrification initiatives: Making of an Integrated E-Axle based Powertrain for EV, HEV and FCEV

We’re excited to announce the addition of a state-of-the-art Bi-directional DC Power Source (DCPS) at ARAI’s Drivetrain Development Centre (DDC)!

This 600kW powerhouse enables precise testing of EV components including e-motors, e-differentials, e-axles and Hybrid drivetrain for passenger car and commercial vehicle applications. It is a unique system with 2 independent channels of 300kW each.

With its advanced features, it supports:

  • Torque vectoring of E differentials.
  • HIL Testing on battery pack and EV Powertrain for EV subsystem validation.
  • Bidirectional energy flow for regeneration (E-motor / E-Axle to battery) scenarios.
  • Flexible, modular test platform with real-world load emulation (charge/discharge cycling) for different capacities.
  • EV inverter with emphasis on transient response and real-time power emulation.
